Compress to optimize

Medictyon PACS optimizes the use of resources by compressing images before sending them to be persistently stored.

After obtaining the images, they are then compressed using wavelet algorithms. This highly efficient algorithm, depending on the type of image, can compress at a ratio of up to 7:1.

This type of compression means that the original image can be reconstructed from the compressed image (reversible algorithm).

This therefore results in a considerable reduction in storing space, in the amount of bandwidth used and the time required to send the images to the storage server.
